  Quiet and decent layout. Food tastes as close to authentic as you will get away from the islands. Had the jerk chicken with fried dumpling, a bit mild for my taste but they offer a pepper sauce for those of us who want it spicier.  Restaurant is clean and the server pleasant.

  Horrible the chicken is over cooked and dry rice and peas is dry as well.

  Late check-in! I don't know why I don't check-in here. I'd probably be a duke or duchess lol. This is my go to jerk chicken when I crave that island style jerk chicken. I usually drop by or I order via UberEats.
  
  The food joint is fairly sized. There are tables and chairs for you to sit if you want to eat there. They have fair amount of choices but knowing me... it's always the jerk chicken but if it runs out then the fried chicken with gravy.
  
  My dinner jerk chicken comes with rice and peas or vegetables or plain rice, plus coleslaw. I always opt for rice and peas. Also, a drink is included. And then I ask them to pour some oxtail gravy on it, and also on the chicken too.
  
  Their festivals are a hit and miss situations. There days when it's hella good soft and other days when it's jaw breaker candy.
  
  I also love to order mango carrot juice too.
  
  The service in the beginning was poor. I don't want to stereotype but that certain staff had major attitude problems. But now with a change of person at the front store, it is more pleasant.
  
  The price is appropriate to what you get. No complaints. This lovely food joint is in the plaza at Chinguacousy and queen where NoFrills is. There are plenty of parking.

  Usually when you think of a franchise you think it wont be very authentic and not very good.  I'm had my fair share of food from the Caribbean and Sunrise surprisingly is right up there with the mom and pop shops.  I used to avoid going to Sunrise for the sole fact that it was a franchise and I didn't want to be disappointed compared to what i'm used to.  I ordered the stew chicken.  I wish there was more meat they were a bit stingy on the meat portion but I got a whole lot of rice and peas.  After I saw the portion of meat i purchased a piece of their fried chicken to give it a try.  Ill be honest it had to be one of the better fried chicken I have ever had.  Seeing as my local Jamaican mom and pop shop closed down recently Sunrise will be my go to place for all my Caribbean food cravings and i wish to stay local.  Give it a try everyone I don't think you will be disappointed.
